Baldur’s Gate 3: Thaniel Location and How To Revive – Players who have awakened the Flaming Fist mercenary Art Cullagh and shared the information with Halsin, the druid, will have to get back Thaniel and revive him in Baldur’s Gate 3. Thaniel is struck down by Ketheric Thorm’s curse within the Shadowfell, but Halsin knows how to bring him back.
There are two parts to this, and it will entail players having to make their way past hordes of enemies who are not too powerful, so it should be possible for your team by now. In that regard, the following guide will help players get Thaniel well again.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Thaniel Location and How To Revive
Halsin and the Portal
As mentioned above, the plan detailed by Halsin has two divisions, with the first fight occurring north of the Last Light Inn‘s protection guard. You must safeguard Halsin’s portal that the druid opens to get to Shadowfell, where Thaniel is. However, once the doorway is opened, you will be attacked by groups of shadows and undead lurking around. That is why players must remain and protect the portal for four rounds of fighting, after which they will be victorious.
- The first wave has a lot of shadows and phantoms coming up in the south, with loads of fallen Harpers and pilgrims attacking from the North.
- The second wave has vines and ravens, with a hit point that will show up beside the barrier.
- The final two waves consist of githyanki warriors and several Harpers from the North.
Players must make heavy use of AoE spells since no enemy has a lot of hit points and bunch up together. That is why Fireball and Lightning Bolt will strike many of them quickly, along with spells like Ice Storm and Hunger of Hadar, since they render enemies immobile. This will make it even tougher to get to the portal eventually.
Once you have protected the portal for four rounds, Halsin will show up with Thaniel. You should not see any more enemies here, but you may have to defeat some undead. After you are done, return to the camp and talk to Halsin.
Defeating Oliver
Halsin will tell players that Thaniel is injured with his one-half still in the Shadow-Cursed Lands following Kethertic Thorm’s curse. Halsin will link up with your team as a full-fledged member.
Coming to Oliver, players could have already come across him to the east of the map, with his house northeast of the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint. He will want to play Hide and Seek with you the first time, but once you have got Thaniel, you can skip this game too.
After confronting Oliver, he gets incensed and heads inside a portal to the western side of the Shadow-Cursed Lands, present beneath the Shadow Curse. You will carry a Pixie Blessing or Moon lantern as you must help Art Cullagh, so turn it on now.
As you near Oliver, he calls upon two special phantoms known as “Daddy” and “Mummy” while himself being shielded by the Nightdome barrier. It is unaffected by nonmagical weapons, Poison, Cold, Thunder, Acid, Lightning, and Psychic and Necrotic effects. That is why your best help will come from Force and Radiant strikes.
This is where players should avoid hitting the Nightdome since it has the unique Cursed Vengeance ability. Any damage you inflict upon the structure hits you back with twice the overall wear.
That is why you should prioritize taking down Daddy, Mummy, and the other one-hit-point buddies that Oliver brings along in the fight. The parents give 60 damage, while the buddies give 10 damage each, so you must take down loads of them in the battle.
After the Nightdome collapses, Oliver admits his defeat. No matter how you behave with him in the aftermath, he will be reunited with Thaniel. Return to the camp, and Thaniel will be next to Halsin. He is healed, and you will have to carry on to take down Ketheric Thorm to see off the Shadow Curse fully.
Thus, that is all the information players will need regarding healing Thaniel in Baldur’s Gate 3. You will have to take care of and rescue him so the area is back to its former glory.
