BL3 – How to get or farm plasma coil
Before starting with the guide, make sure you own the Arms Race DLC. We will be listing some suggested builds to use with the weapon, how to farm it in the first place, and the weapon stats as well.
You can get the plasma coil from several spots within the Arms Race DLC itself. It can be a random enemy, loot box, vendor machine, or a boss.
The consistent way to farm for it is by grinding for the final boss of the DLC called Heavyweight Harket. To get to the final boss, you need to first, start the Arms Race DLC from Sanctuary III.
Here is an image showing the location for the Arms Race poster, from where you can play this DLC:
- Now just select the Stromblind Complex in Pandora spawn right in!
- Simply play the final boss and farm as many times as you want.
- You can also try to find a specific chest on the map.
- This has dropped the most number of plasma coils other than the final boss himself.

- The chest will be heavily guarded by high-level enemies. So make sure you are carrying your best builds to farm this weapon.
How to Extract the Weapon
To extract a farmed weapon, and transfer it to your vault, you need to find an extraction point on the map. It should look something like this:
NOTE that if you do not extract the farmed weapon, you could lose it in the map itself and the grind will go to waste. So make sure you do it correctly and ALWAYS remember to extract the weapon after you farm for it and pick it up.

Plasma Coil Weapon Overview
This MALIWAN SMG will shred enemies even at Mayhem Level 11, with all the modifiers on. You should ideally use it with a high-damage critical build for FL4K or Amara, and watch it make quick work of enemies and bosses.
A weapon to keep for your main loadout. This weapon shoots projectiles in delayed bursts, which can be considered as a downside. But make no mistake as it compensates for the delay with the massive damage it deals with.
Description
The Plasma Coil is a submachine gun that has a damage-per-shot and fire rate that is comparable to rocket launchers and Vladof weapons respectively.
As such, it can be used in a “spray and pray” manner as only a handful of enemies can survive multiple shots. Able to decimate virtually any enemy, it is widely considered to be one of, if not the best weapons in the game.
Notes
- The Plasma Coil will always spawn with the “Superconducting” prefix.
