Death Stranding PC Ultrawide black bars Fix

If you plan to play Death Stranding on PC, and especially in Ultrawide mode, the black bars can be annoying to see. So, in this guide, we shall show how to fix it by doing some editing. It requires a third-party editor. So make sure you download it first. Then proceed with the rest of the tweak.

Death Stranding PC Ultrawide black bars Fix

  • Download Hex Editor (HxD). Here is a download link.
  • Open HxD and select ds.exe
  • Press CTRL+R > Click on “Hex values” > Click on “All” Search > Search for 55 55 25 40
  • You can then replace with any of the resolution values given below:
    • 2560×1080 – 26 B4 17 40
      3440×1440 – 8E E3 18 40
      3840×1080 – 39 8E 63 40
      3840×1440 – AB AA 2A 40
      3840×1600 – 9A 99 19 40
      3840×1620 – 26 B4 17 40
      5120×1440 – 39 8E 63 40
      5120×2160 – 26 B4 17 40
      6880×2880 – 8E E3 18 40
  • Then Click on “Replace all” and Save it.

NOTE: Make a backup of the file before editing. Alternatively, you can restore windows to undo changes. So make sure you create a restore point before doing the changes.

If you followed the above guide step by step, it should now get rid of the black bars, and you can now play it in Ultrawide mode.
