After a couple of years of wait, Everspace 2 has finally left its Alpha phase and is in its Early Acess. You can get the game on steam if you wish to play it right away. A lot of players are complaining that they cannot run it on Windows 7 with Dx11. So in this very short fix, we will walk you through how to do that.
The main concern is that the game itself runs on Dx12 whereas it is set to run on Dx11, so how do we run it where it is intended? Well lets take a look.
Dx11 Windows 7 fix for Everspace 2
The Simple solution to this would be to set “-dx11” to Everspace 2 Launch options, without quotes. Apply and start game, and you should be able to run it on older versions of Windows other that Win 10. For the simpler or new steam users, we will show you how to set launch options:
- Open Steam and go to the Game Library
- Locate Everspace 2 and Right-Click on it
- Click on “PROPERTIES” and look for LAUNCH OPTIONS.
- It should be under the General Tab.
- Type in “-dx11” in the field, and exit that window.
- Now launch the game, and if you did things right, it should now launch for you!
And that is how you can fix the DirectX 11 and Win7 Incompatibility Issue.
About Everspace 2
EVERSPACE™ 2 is a fast-paced single-player spaceship shooter with deep exploration in space. The world consists of planets, tons of loot, RPG elements, mining, and crafting. Experience a decently put together story, set in a vivid, handcrafted open world full of secrets, puzzles, and perils.
In the campaign, you will make some friends with their own story to tell. There are a lot of other aspects exclusive to this game, which you need to experience to enjoy for yourselves.
