Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes – How To Play Multiplayer Mode

The hack and slash action is back in the form of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a spinoff of the Three Houses edition. Players will have many of the returning favourites as they follow Shez’s storyline. One of the most important aspects is the co-op multiplayer mode.

It is needed due to the optics of the game, which require participating in side missions alongside the main one. The following guide will help players in unlocking the multiplayer mode and how to get the best out of it.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes – How to unlock two-player multiplayer mode

First things first, there is an average workaround for the multiplayer mode. Players can make use of Shez’s Shadow Slide ability, which allows instant teleportation to any friendly territory and/or units you control.

However, it is not a great shortcut and you will eventually need the multiplayer mode. The game allows players to join forces with friends in split-screen action, but it is not immediate. Therefore, patience is required.

It only comes on after you get to chapter 4. The two options for this are “To War!” (Azure Gleam and Golden Wildfire) or “The Shadows of Adrestia” (Scarlet Blaze).

Many of the missions in the game support multiplayer. You can have a partner join whenever a message pops up that reads, “P2 Can Join!” on the top-right corner of the screen.

To make use of a second controller, hit ‘minus’ when the message comes. Sync your controller, and you will see “P2 Joined!” Now, you can go about maneuvering through the Battle Map screen. No matter what unit Player 2 joins, both of you will be able to change through the D-Pad itself.

Though the screen gets split, the gameplay remains the same as you would find in the single-player mode. There could be a few problems in maintaining the camera angle, though you will get used to it soon.

The other major thing is that while pausing the menu, it will fill the entire screen, so it might come at a bad time. Therefore, make sure both of you are on the same page before choosing to go back to the map.

That is all you need to know about the multiplayer co-op mode in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes. As mentioned above, there are many situations where the only way to get by is the multiplayer mode. Of course, you can accomplish most stuff solely, though enabling this mode always helps the cause.
