How To Enter Photo Mode in FH 5

You can press “P” on Keyboard to enter photo mode. For Controllers you need to press “D-Pad Up”. This is where all the magic will happen. If you find the perfect frame and angles for the car and the sceneries, press Esc immediately.

Alternatively, press Esc and Look for the tab called “Creative Club”. Once you manage to enter that, look  at the right hand side of the screen and you should find a Tile called “PHOTO MODE”.

Photo Mode Settings Explained

Here, I will be explaining each Photo Mode setting so that you can fine tune these to your needs. To enter these options, you need to select “Effects Mode”. Here you see a plethora of options:

PRESETS

You can select from a number of pre-set. These are Soft, High Contrast, Low Contrast, B & W, Mono High, Natural, Pin Hole, Sepia, Sepia High, Vintage, Saturation, Tilt Shift, Macro, Light Sider, Dark Sider, and Abstract.

Each of these have different parameters and values. Use this if you do not want to invest time for each setting.

SHUTTER SPEED

Shutter speed is how long an image is exposed to light — it can be milliseconds, or even minutes. As one of three elements that affect how light or dark an image is (called exposure), understanding shutter speed is essential to taking full creative control of the camera and a good FH5 picture.

FOCUS MODE

The photographer can choose whether the camera locks or continues to adjust focus while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. The setting that controls this behaviour is focus mode. You can press X to focus after you are done, and press Enter to click the photo.

EXPOSURE

Exposure is the amount of light which reaches your camera sensor or film. If you increase this in-game this will make the image vibrant and bright. Basically the camera lens opens up to allow more light into it. Use this for decent clicks that lack light.

APERTURE

Aperture refers to the opening of a lens’s diaphragm through which light passes. This goes in sync with the exposure option. Use these two in sync to make the image visually pleasing.

BOKEH SHAPE

It’s best to use a setting with a wide aperture to create bokeh. Use this tip with the aperture setting above to create a bright and clear image for this.

COLOR SETTINGS

I have grouped up the rest of the settings here. These are basically Brightness, Contrast, Vignette, Sepia, Colour, and Temperature.

Use these basic settings to increase or decrease them to make the image more or less vibrant. These are simple tweaks and you can play around with these to find the best looking output.

How To Download in-game photos (location if any)

There is no dedicated folder on your PC for Forza Horizon 5 Photos. You can get access to these photos by following these steps:

  • Go To www.forzamotorsport.net.
  • Sign in Using The XBOX/Microsoft account you are using with FH5
  • Now Go to the Community Option on the top
  • Check under FH5 Gallery for the photos you took and shared in game.

Now you can simply download these images and use them as you want! Note that it may take time for these images to show up. Wait for a few hours or contact dev team if you cannot find the images.

Alternatives to taking photos

You can also use either NIVIDIA Screenshots or XBOX App  to capture the in-game image by hiding the UI. Press BACKSPACE to hide the UI and then use these software to snap the photo. Any screen capture software can also work quite well with this method.

There are also other toggle options like Car Light, Crowd, Driver, and Creatures. Turning these off will mean they will be removed from the photo.
