The journey of Kratos and Atreus will reach its grand conclusion as players go through the latest tale in the God of War franchise. The four intervening years between the original in 2018 and God of War Ragnarok has only hyped up the wait which has been worth its while.
The nine realms are riddled with challenges, missions, and intriguing puzzles which players have to solve in order to further their progress. Additionally, there are a lot of achievements in the game which will earn you trophies, including boss fights.
In one of them, you will come across Vanadis, and after a gnarly battle, it turns out that she is actually Freya, a former friend, and ally of the father-son duo. Freya and Kratos will journey to The Abandoned Village in ‘The Reckoning’ mission where they will be stumped by a broken bridge with seemingly no way to cross it.

God of War Ragnarok: How to solve Broken Bridge puzzle in The Abandoned Village
When you come to one end of the bridge, you will notice brambles growing at the other end with no pathway in between. There is a crane-like structure in front, which has an arm with a grappling hook at one end.
Players will notice that the other end of the arm is stuck in brambles to the left of your screen. This prevents the crane from turning, despite hitting the round markers on the crane with your axe which turn it around.
Go to the left of where you are standing and you will find the chain affixed to the brambles. Kratos will use his Blades of Chaos to set fire to the bushes, which will free up a flaming bucket hanging via rope.
Now comes the real challenge which is using that flaming bucket to burn down the brambles blocking your path to cross the bridge to the other side. Players may find themselves stuck trying to figure out which angle is the best to swing the bucket using your Blades of Chaos.
Freya will give you a hint, suggesting to use the islands around to your advantage. That means you will have to go to your left again, bring the grapple hook to yourself by turning the crane and jump to the opposite island. You are now standing parallel to the blocked end of the bridge and this is where you have to bring the fire bucket.
Once you have it, swing it sideways by using the Blades of Chaos, and you will see it alighting the brambles that need to be cleared. After that is done, head back to your starting point, and get the grapple hook in front by hitting the markers with your axe and rotating the crane. Kratos and Freya will grapple their way to the other end and move on in their mission.
