The arrival of God of War Ragnarok has certainly stirred the fans of the very popular franchise into action. Players are scrambling to journey with Kratos and Atreus in this epic Norse mythological thriller which is a direct sequel to the 2018 epic.
There are a number of trophies to collect along the way as you keep on completing achievements, but that is not all.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the game has been the mysterious-looking puzzles that prop up regularly, no matter which realm you are present in. These puzzles come with a varied mix of difficulties, which may stump you from time to time.
In that regard, the following guide will help players in solving the ‘statue and crystal puzzle’ located within the Temple of Light’s central hall.
God of War Ragnarok: How to solve statue and crystal puzzle in Temple of Light
Kratos, Atreus, and Tyr find their path blocked by a door with a blue crystal lock on the top. There is no discernible way to break the door down, but players will notice a statue to either side of them with the left one having a Twilight Stone.
The first thing to do is to throw your axe to the right, where there is a green stone, and knock it off. This will now allow Kratos to use his Blades of Chaos and shift the statue to your left, freeing up a climbing platform behind it.
Now, turn to the other side, and climb up the left platform to get in behind that side’s statue. You will notice that the statue has a green area behind its head, which you will need to strike with the axe.
Once that is done, the wings of the statue will come into focus and this is where the action kicks on. Make use of Kratos’ Blades of Chaos to move the statue to the left, which will reveal a white indicator to the statue’s right.
Use your axe to smash it and this will cause the right wing to break. Players will have to move the statue again via the Blades of Chaos to the right, and this time, it is the turn of the shield. The main problem here for players is that there is no indicator here for you.
This is why many players were getting stuck in figuring out how to break off the other wing. Once you realize what needs to be done, throw the axe at the shield which will break it. Finally, you have to change the direction of the statue one last time to the left.
Atreus and Kratos will make their way down before the latter goes up the other side and left. Position yourself behind the statue, directly facing the Twilight Stone from your ledge.
After a few seconds of movement to get the angle correct, you will see the blue line which means the axe is ready to be thrown in order to break the blue crystal and open the doorway for you and the team to proceed onwards.
Thus, that is all the information players will need to solve this convoluted puzzle. It will be confusing in the beginning, not knowing what to do with the two statues and figuring out the angle, but once you start working on the wings, it goes a lot smoother.
