This Icarus optimization guide is for the best graphics settings you can tweak for the game. These settings will hopefully make Icarus playable for you since, a decent chunk of players are struggling to even get the FPS up and running.

Icarus – Optimized Graphics Settings for Performance

These tweaks for Icarus will be for those players who do not have a 30 Series card but still want to run the game at 60 FPS+. The game is demanding indeed but a few changes can go a long way here.

For those of you who have entry-level systems like a 1050 TI,1650, or a 1060 and a 10th Gen i3 or i5, I would recommend upgrading them for this one. They can still run the game fine but may need to sacrifice some more visual settings.

Icarus Best Graphics Settings In-game↓

These will be the best graphics settings for Icarus under the said system specs:

Best Gameplay settings↓

This section generally covers the FOV and other UI and clothing-related tweaks:

  • Field of View – 110 (maximum viewability for a survival game)
  • Player Marker Enabled – ON
  • Enable Cloth Simulation – OFF (This is off since it takes up some frames)
  • The rest of the settings – Optional (ON preferably)

Best Display Settings↓

This will be the main graphics settings tab for Icarus:

Windows settings

  • Display Mode – Fullscreen (Almost all games should have fullscreen. I cannot see a reason why not)
  • Resolution – Native (1920×1080 for me)
  • Frame Limit – 60 FPS (You can go ham if you have a higher-end card and system, but this is generally for medium-end rigs)
  • Enable Vsync – OFF (If you struggle with 60 FPS, you should always have this off)
  • Motion Blur – 0.00 (This will take up some frames so keep this off)

Quality settings

  • View Distance – Medium (High settings will take up some fps from you)
  • Anti-Aliasing – Medium (This will help with those sharp and jagged edges to smoothen them)
  • Post Processing – Low (Mediocre impact on performance hence keep this one low)
  • Shadows – Low (Shadows hog a lot of framerates, so I suggest keeping it lowest)
  • Textures – Medium (some visual quality does not hurt at all so at least keep this medium)
  • Effects – Low (These will be the main particle effect settings. Can take up a lot of FPS so keep these low)
  • Foliage – Medium
  • Shading – Low
  • Simple Building Shadows – ON
  • Disable Lighting Effects – ON

Results and More Tips for FPS

This is how the game looks after doing all the above tweaks:

Icarus best graphics settings guide 60 FPS

I was getting a steady 60 FPS with the above settings for in-game and Windows panels. These will be the ideal tweaks for a similar system considering that you are also on one. if you have high-end rigs, you can turn the settings to high, but keep the shadow medium.

The game does not look the prettiest in these settings, but it does the job of fetching you a consistent framerate at the end of the day. If you still need more FPS, turn the Foliage back to the lowest.

If you are still struggling with getting 60 FPS, you can also dial down the Resolution to 1280 x 720. This is not my suggestion, but might as well get consistent FPS rather than getting jitters and lags.

That would be all from this guide on Icarus best graphics settings for 60 FPS. Do leave your doubts and thoughts in the comments below.
