Bad Credentials Error – How To Fix

New World Guides and Fixes

The first thing that you need to check is the Windows Clock Settings. A desync in the configuration of time is causing the main trouble for this error to pop up. Make sure that your Windows Clock, as well as the date, is set correctly. If you have trouble figuring it out, simply google “what is my time” and it will show up perfectly. If you happen to use two Operating systems alternatively, say, Linux and Windows, You can prevent a de-synced clock in Windows, by setting Linux to run on local time. All you need to do is input the following commands in your terminal:

  • timedatectl set-local-rtc 1 –adjust-system-clock

If you wish to undo the above change, run the following command in the terminal:

  • timedatectl set-local-rtc 0 –adjust-system-clock

The only variable used here is 0 and 1. Simply alternating between the two should be enough for you to test the settings. Most of us use single OS systems, so it is unlikely that you would need the above set of terminal commands. Still, as a measure of safety, note them down.

That would be all from this short guide on fixing the bad credentials error in New World. I am excited like others as to, how the end product turns out when the full game releases on August 2021. So far, the game is decent and enjoyable enough to keep you engaged. There are a few bugs and performance issues, but not that significant to not play the game. Do let me know your thoughts down in the comments below. I will be publishing more New World content so stay in tune with the website. Thanks for reading!
