Persona 5 Strikers (P5S) | How To Fix Black Screen

Persona 5 Strikers is finally out for PC players on steam. A lot of players have started to enjoy this edition of the P5. But with that, a lot of players are facing quite a few black screen issues with the game. There are few other issues which include not being able to change the resolution or screen size from borderless or fixed fullscreen.

In this short fix, we will try to troubleshoot these issues with some simple steps. So, if you are facing black screen or resolution issues, these should hopefully mend it. Lets take a look…

How To Fix Black Screen in P5S

First of all, locate the save file folder for Persona 5 Strikers on your PC. By default, it should be %appdata%, followed by SEGA. Inside the SEGA folder, you should find the P5S folder. Simply delete this folder. But before you do this, I would recommend you take a backup of the folder in-case you lose the save files and progressions thus far. Until the developers push a fix for this issue, you will be able to play P5S in Windowed mode for now. This only applies if you are facing a black screen or fixed resolution issue in the first place.

The Second fix requires you to alter the settings file for the game. Do this at your own discretion. I would highly recommend you take a backup of the file you are about to edit. In case of any issues, simply restore it and you should be good to go. In this method open the config.xml file for P5S. Now change <DisplaySetting>1</DisplaySetting> to <DisplaySetting>3</DisplaySetting> (1 to 3). This will put the game in windowed mode. This method does not erase your saved data as confirmed so far. This is a much more convenient method compared to the first one, so give it a try if you found the first method a bit complex.

In conclusion, whichever method you use, you can play the game only in windowed mode as of now. I am hoping a fix from the developers sooner or later which will address this issue.
