Pokemon Sword & Shield: List of All Shiny Locked Pokemon

If you’re an avid Pokemon player, then chances are that you’ve already been on the hunt for the rare Shiny Pokemon at some point in the past. Pokemon Sword & Shield has made Shiny hunting more fun than ever, with thousands of these incredibly rare variants to collect across the game.

While Pokemon Sword & Shield players can obtain Shiny variants of most of the Pokemon out there if they grind enough, there are some specific Pokemon that aren’t available in their Shiny forms in the game. Thes are called ‘Shiny locked’ Pokemon, and their Shiny forms aren’t coded to appear in the entire game at all.

It’s unfortunate that players won’t be able to find every single Pokemon in their Shiny form, but it’s still wise to know which of the Pokemon aren’t available in Shiny form at all. This may spare you the extra time and hassle of trying to find the Shiny forms of these Pokemon when there are none to be found at all.

The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra Expansion Passes have brought a bunch of new content to the game including a number of new Shinies. The number of Shiny-locked Pokemon in Sword and Shield is also the highest out of all Pokemon games in the franchise with these new expansions.

  1. I was wondering if you have an updated version of this list? While playing Pokémon Shield I managed to catch two shiny Vulpix back to back. If you have an updated version I can continue my hunt from it would be much appreciated, thank you for your time and have a happy holidays.
