After being announced in November 2022, the early access launch of Starship Troopers: Extermination is finally here for players. While there is some time for the game to be entirely out, there has been much excitement around the whole venture.

It is developed by Offworld Industries, the Canada-based studio that gained acclaim for the hit 2020 game, Squad. While there is much to unpack regarding the game in early access, there is excellent fervor regarding the gameplay style and what to expect.

Given the hype surrounding Starship Troopers: Extermination, players would want to know some of the critical details of it, its plans, and one of the key settings, switching on the VSync.

Players looking to switch on VSync will not be able to do it from inside the game itself as there is no option for that till now.

You will have to do it the long way by going to Go to C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Yakisoba\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and finding the GameUserSettings.ini. Once you get it, look for the line bUseVSync=False.

Players must change it to True, with the final line reading bUseVSync=True. Now, you have to save the settings and relaunch the game.

Starship Troopers: Extermination – What to know about the game

The game is set three decades after the original Starship Troopers in 1997. Of course, it has co-op gameplay, and you can select one of the three Trooper classes in Assault, Support, and Defense. One of the best features has been the increase of players that can join together to 16 from 12 initially.

That means you can split into teams of four while finishing objectives, collecting resources, and finishing off Bugs. Speaking of Bugs, you will come up against Warrior, Plasma Grenadier, Drone, Tiger Elite, and Gunner.

It would be best to take them down as you make your way to the extraction point. Along the way, players have to create towers, walls, and ammunition bases that will serve as protection from pesky Bugs.

One of the best aspects has been the ‘ping’ system of communicating with others so everyone will be clear on their tasks and missions throughout your playtime.

As you keep leveling up, players will get more significant threats from the Bugs along with preparation for the wars. You have to demolish hives, finish side quests, and wrest back control of the bases present. Everyone will be in for the fight of their lives, so make sure you are well-equipped with the firepower.

You will also get newer weapons and armor for every class with unique perks. All of it will transform you into a top battler.

The map is enormous, meaning players must take time to familiarize themselves. There are five special zones, and you will sometimes be overwhelmed by the number of enemy Bugs. Nevertheless, do not fret; you can clear them with the whole squadron present.

Thus, that is all the information players need regarding turning on VSync and how it will significantly help the gaming experience. We will have more information about the settings and how they enhance everything as the days go on.
