If you started playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, you may have come across an issue with purchasing gems in steam. In this guide, I will discuss the details of the issue, and also, how you can fix that issue if you need to.
How To Fix Gem Purchase Error in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel
When you try to purchase gems at the gem shop while “Enable Steam-Overlay In-Game” is off, you will get a message saying that your “Purchase has failed” and you will not be able to purchase gems correctly.
As far as I have check the only affected platform that is encountering this issue is Steam. For the rest of the platforms, the purchase system of the gems is working well. Let us see how we can troubleshoot this issue.
If the above message pops up, and you cannot purchase gems correctly, do the following steps, and then try again:
- Go To Steam.
- Open the Settings for Steam.
- Select the “In-Game” Tab.
- Check the box “Enable Steam Overlay while in-game”.
After you have completed the above steps, restart the game, and Steam. Now launch Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel normally. If you did things correctly, you should now be able to purchase gems from the in-game shop without any trouble.
I have seen similar issues while playing on Origin as well. Especially with Apex Legends. Hence a similar kind of fix works for that, as well as this game. So give it a go and do let me know in the comments below.
The developers have released a statement, saying the following:
In the future, we will update the game to add a message saying that Steam Overlay is not enabled when the above purchase error occurs
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
Speaking for myself, I am quite content with the way the developers have tackled the issue. And they have also mentioned that they will release a patch addressing this issues in the near future. Let me know what you think about this gesture in the comments.
