Baldur’s Gate 3: Should You Eliminate Isobel or Save Her

Players going through the Dark Urge in Baldur’s Gate 3 will have to make a series of difficult decisions, including whether to eliminate Isobel. The following guide will help players understand whether killing Isobel is worth it or if they should avoid it.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Should You Eliminate Isobel or Save Her

She is a Clear of Selune present in the Last Light Inn, and whether to kill her is not a decision that should be taken without considerable thought.

If you plan to take her out, there will be irreparable damage to your relationship with the party members, and you will be unable to finish other quests.

Once you get to the Last Light Inn, Isobel will be present there, and she gives magical protection to the Inn against the Shadow Curse.

After you meet her, Flaming Fist Marcus and a group of flying beasts will attack the Last Light Inn. It ends in one of two ways: Isobel dying in the fight or surviving.

If Isobel survives, players will meet Sceleritas Fel, the goblin butler, asking them to take out Isobel for a big prize.

If Isobel dies during the attack, you will meet Sceleritas Fel nonetheless. However, this time, he will tell you to eliminate one of your party members to prove yourself.

There is no way to get out of this; even if players reject it, you will take out a member while you are asleep.

That is not the end, as your remaining party members will attack you as they want revenge for what you have done, thereby starting a full-scale battle with all of them.

What happens by killing Isobel

For the scenario where Isobel is alive after the fight at the Inn, head back there to talk with her. You will see two options, one of killing her and the other of getting a Dark Urge moment.

The first one takes her out instantly, and the second one will put you in a fight with her, with the end goal being to have her dead.

Once you have completed your task, go to your camp and rest. Sceleritas Fel will be back and give you the Slayer Form. It is a dark variety of Wide Shape Ability present with Druids.

Slayer Form will let you take shape as a demon beast to rip your enemies apart. Additionally, Sceleritas Fel will also task you with removing the complete Moonmade family Isobel was a member of.

There are other consequences to eliminating Isobel, as the protection of the Last Light Inn is no more. That means the Shadow Curse will attack and kill all the NPCs present within, many of whom give certain quests like:

Art Cullagh (dies): You will not be able to know about an important clue regarding the origin of the Shadow Curse, and finishing the quest will give you the chance to link up ultimately with Halsin.

Dammon (dies): You cannot fix Karlach’s Inferno Engine to go ahead with her quest story.

Jahiera, Half-Elven Druid: She will be appalled by your activities and have no interest in joining the mission of getting inside Moonrise Towers, thereby not allowing you to recruit her.

What happens if you do not want to kill Isobel

Players who wish to spare Isobel can do that by just rejecting Sceleratis Fel’s order to eliminate her in the first place.

That will not start the following storyline, meaning you will not have to kill her later. While players will miss out on the Slayer Form, you can keep going with the remainder of the quests that you would have missed otherwise.

Thus, that is all the information players will need regarding the two options in this story regarding Isobel. You can choose the path you want to head, which will give you the gameplay based on that.
