Gotham Knights – How To Use Dualsense Controller On Steam

WB Games has finally arrived with their much-awaited release of Gotham Knights. In terms of the backdrop, as you all have seen in videos, Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin – to protect Gotham City.

There were several videos and articles showing how bad it can be to run on your systems, but surprisingly, the game is not that bad in terms of performance. You can expect a steady-paced Frame Rate if you keep things medium to high.

Yes, Console users have a whole different problem to deal with in terms of maintaining frame rates. I am hoping that the developers will address the issue to some extent. This is of course a core engine issue, so do not expect a 30 to 60 FPS jump.

In this particular guide, I will show you how you can enjoy Gotham Knights using your Dualsense or PS5 controller. The game for some reason is not detecting Dualsense controllers from the get-go, so you may need to fiddle around a bit.

Gotham Knights Dualsense support

How To Use a Dualsense Controller in Gotham Knights PC

If you own an XBOX official controller, I don’t think you should have any issues with playing the game with it. Third-party XBOX controllers can have difficulties with this particular game for some reason. You can fix that by using third-party software.

Now coming to Dualsense Controllers like the PS5 one, Gotham Knights does not detect it right away. There are a couple of things you can try to make it detect the controller:

  • Go To Gotham Knights > Select Properties > Controller > Select “Disable Steam Input”
  • The second method is easy. Start the game > Options > General > Button Style > Dualshock

Gotham Knights Dualsense Controller detection

Either of these two methods should work fine for you in fixing the Dualsense or Third Party Controllers not detecting for you. This will also fix the wrong button layouts if you were seeing XBOX style button layouts, to begin with.

Some stuff that I want to mention is that, YES, Dualsense is supported by Gotham Knights. But the controller seems to be working in a buggy way in the current state of the game. I am expecting a quick patch from the developers to address these bugs

Basically, you will have weird double inputs, wrong inputs, auto-skips, and other such known issues while using Dualsense. This went away for me after some time, but this is a matter of concern for many players out there.

If you follow those steps, it should be working fine for you. Regarding the buggy issues, let us just hope WB fixes them as soon as they can. Let me know how you are enjoying Gotham Knights in the comments below.

Thanks for dropping by!
