Jagged Alliance 3: How to Find the MG42 Machine Gun
The MG42 Machine Gun will be found within an Old Bunker present within The Rust situated in Sector H3. You will be getting to this particular Sector by completing the earlier ones, i.e., Sectors I1 and I2.
After you get here, there will be an option for you to either look around the region right away or liberate the Ernie Village located in Sector H2. If you choose to do the latter first, players will find an NPC called ‘Basil.’
He will be the one to reveal the details about the MG42 Machine Gun and want you to get the heavy gun back to him in order to strengthen Basil’s village.
Additionally, the MG42 Machine Gun is connected to a weak point of Fort L’eau Bleu, which is imperative for the major goal of liberating your island.
In order to search around The Rust in Sector H3, you will have to initiate the command of the “Tackle” view that will let the mercenaries get inside the surroundings.
As they move in front of you, there will be a NPC called ‘Bastien‘ and you can decide whether you want to let him live or finish him off. Once either of the decision is taken by you, make your way to the north of the region till you come across the Bunker.
It is guarded by a lot of enemies so be ready for a major battle. After you have won here, get inside the bunker and take all the weapon chests available before moving on.
You will encounter more enemies towards the lower reaches of the bunker and you will have to finish them off as well.
Once you are through with this, move to the right of the bunker region here, and here is the weapons group that will have the MG42 Machine Gun you were looking for. Grab it along with any other weapons you come across in the whole of the bunker before exiting.
As players make their way back to the Strategic Map, there will be a warning showing that the defenses of Fort L’eau Bleu are losing their strength.
This is where you have a choice to make, in terms of whether to have the MG42 Machine Gun with you or hand it over to Basil so he can finish his side quest.
