Players are eager to build many vehicles in LEGO Fortnite, and the lack of a steering wheel will not stop them. A popular craft is the ‘turning plane,’ i.e., a plane that can turn while flying.
Now, this may sound difficult since there is no option of steering your vehicle, but there are some workarounds, such as using the thrusters and always remaining alert of the direction you want to fly towards. In that regard, the following guide explains how to build a turning plane in LEGO Fortnite.
LEGO Fortnite: How To Craft A Turning Plane
Players can start in either sandbox or survival, depending on where they have all the materials ready to build the plane. You will begin with the Dynamic Foundation with four blocks of wood to create a square shape that will serve as the plane’s base.
- Players should use the snap tool through the Snap Mode on the Left trigger, as this ensures you do not have differences in height or other elements due to the builds being together.
- After your Dynamic Foundation square is ready, go to one of the sides and start putting in as many Large Thrusters as you can fit (which seems to be 8)
- Once that is done, head to the opposite side of the Dynamic Foundation on top and vertically build a Wood Foundation block.
- You can even have a horizontal piece on top of the previous one if you want
Now comes the decision part about the direction of your plane when it is flying. If you want to fly left, put your Small Thruster on the right side of the foundation block, and if you want to travel right, do the opposite with the Small Thruster.
- After that comes a very crucial part, which is, of course, putting in the Activation Switch
- Since the side of the Dynamic Foundation with the wooden blocks is now heavier, we stick two small balloons to the two corners there.
- Finally, we will add one giant balloon to each Dynamic Foundation block to lift the plane.
The critical thing to be careful about here is to do the last step fast since your plane will start rising as soon as you place the first Large Balloon.
So, you will have to keep the remaining three Large Balloons before you fall off, which is not a problem in the sandbox but will destroy your plane in survival.
Once you are sufficiently in the air, hit the Activation Switch to turn on the Large Thrusters, and you will start flying.
The Small Thruster will turn your plane depending on your chosen direction. You can easily change it by changing the placement of the Small Thruster, or you can remove it altogether and keep flying straight ahead.
Thus, that is all the information players need when building a plane that turns while flying in LEGO Fortnite.
The absence of a proper steering wheel has undoubtedly complicated things, but you can still get around the problems with your craftiness.
