Using roguelite elements continues with the Season of the Witch introducing the Deck of Whispers. It is a brand-new progression system that allows players to curate the random buffs they have been getting along with the activities of Season of the Witch.
The following guide will help players understand how the Deck of Whispers functions and how to get the cards available.
Destiny 2: What Is The Deck Of Whispers and How To Get Whisper Cards
The Deck is a bunch of Arcana Whisper Cards that are gotten throughout Season of the Witch. You will draw them randomly as you play through Savathun’s Spire or Altars of Summoning activities, strengthening your character with build-enabling passives like scorched rounds for Solar weapons and increased chances to get Heavy ammo as you slay enemies.
You can use them as buildcrafting tools, and the cards are vital to get through the most challenging fights in the Altars of Summoning.
Players can make a deck in the Athenaeum, the south wing of the H.E.L.M., to the Lectern of Divination to see their cards. Several cards are opaque generally, and you cannot see the effects.
Players are tasked with searching for cards and revealing their contents at the Lectern to increase their overall Deck of Whispers. The more you have, the better when it comes to creating your deck.
Looking for Whisper Cards
Players will receive Whisper Cards through any completed activity, with Season of the Witch ones giving them the highest possibility. Witch’s Keys will provide you with at least one Opaque Card if you own “The Sisters” Whisper Card. It is the maiden card that players will get at the beginning.
All Opaque Cards can be seen only via the Lectern of Divination, and once you do, players will have either a Major Arcana card or a Minor Arcana card.
- Major Arcana: They unlock newer cards players can use in Savathun’s Spire and the Altars of Summoning.
They are also connected with a short quest requiring completion before you can access it. These quests are listed within the Quests tab.
- Minor Arcana: These cards give you seasonal bonuses related to progression, similar to the challenge system of Season of the Deep.
You can win prizes like weekly Deepsight focusing options, but Minor Arcana cards do not unlock other cards for Deck of Whispers.
How To Create A Deck
Players must have at least five Major Arcana cards to start making a deck, which holds a maximum of 12 cards. The Lectern of Divination has the complete list of cards you have at any moment.
You have to manage your cards via the pedestals in the room, each containing a singular card. You will have to view the effects and name as you get beside it while interacting with it. It will either add or remove the card.
The cards are chosen randomly as you go through Savathun’s Spire or the Altars of Summoning quests. Smaller decks will lead to more buffs that will potentially benefit you greatly. Bigger decks can be kept for more extended activities.
