Hogwarts Legacy – No Sound or Audio – How To Fix

Many PC gamers complain that the game’s audio is randomly buggy and that they cannot hear anything when playing. The following information may be helpful to you if this problem also affects you. Here’s how to resolve the Hogwarts Legacy PC’s No Sound or Audio problem.

How To Fix No Sound/Audio Issue In Hogwarts Legacy

Here are some quick fixes for Hogwarts’ audio issues.

Make sure you have the appropriate audio output selected

Your primary sound output could have changed for any reason; it’s possible. When you connect a controller or another audio device, it typically happens. Your audio output can be modified by:

  1. Click the speaker in the System tray with the right mouse button in the lower right corner of your screen.
  2. Activate the sound settings.
  3. Under the Sound Tab, choose the appropriate output device for your needs.
  4. Open Hogwarts Legacy now.
  5. Navigate to Sound Settings.
  6. Ensure that Mono Audio is turned off.
  7. “Headphones” has to be selected under Audio Configuration.

Use 3.5 mm wired headphones.

I can’t guarantee that what I’m recommending will solve the problem, but as it has frequently done so for me, I’d consider using a set of wired headphones with a 3.5 mm socket.

I have a Razer Blackshark V2 Pro, and I’ve noticed this problem in a lot of games. We suppose this game is no different.

But as soon as I switched to my wired MSI Gaming Headphones with a 3.5 mm receiver, the issue was resolved.

Additionally, there have been reports of problems with USB-connected wired headphones. Utilizing headphones with a 3.5 mm jack is your best option.

Change the Playback device’s format.

Remember, those sound problems may arise if the game audio is not rendered to the Native Windows settings. To remedy this, you must:

  1. In the system tray, right-click the speaker icon.
  2. Choose Sounds, then your preferred playback device.
  3. Select the properties with a right-click on it.
  4. Navigate to the Advanced tab.
  5. The output format should be changed to 16bit, 48000 Hz (DVD quality), or 24-bit 96000 Hz.

Disable Windows Sonic or Spatial Sound

Always keep Windows Sonic and Spatial Sound off because they are currently problematic.

Activate all enhancements

There may be audio problems and sound loss if all the enhancements are disabled. To change it up, you can:

  1. Navigate to Sound.
  2. Go to the Playback Tab.
  3. Right-click on Playback Devices by going there.
  4. Click Enhancements after choosing Properties.

Updating audio drivers

You can try one more thing if none of the above-stated remedies work. Although many other sources may urge you to attempt this, you should only do so if you experience audio problems with all games, not only Hogwarts Legacy. The suggestion is straightforward: Reinstall your audio drivers.

Please be aware, though, that in my opinion, this might not be the best option. A corrupted audio driver won’t directly damage a single game.

The whole of your system will be affected. Therefore, there is no need to reinstall drivers as long as you can still hear everything else.

Play other games while checking the sound. If the problem persists in other games, consider installing new drivers.

Visit the motherboard’s official website and download the drivers there. Don’t merely download from a website at random.
