This guide will answer that and help you efficiently reach the point where you can fully customize these skills to your liking.

Unlocking Synthesis and Using Plastics

The journey to mastering EX and OP skills begins with unlocking the ability to enhance your Gunpla’s level and rarity. To do this, you’ll need to progress through the main story until you reach Chapter 3. Once you unlock Chapter 3, you’ll gain access to the Synthesis function, a critical feature for leveling up your Gunpla parts.

Here’s what you need to know about Synthesis and Plastics:

  1. Unlocking Plastics:
    • The first mission in Chapter 3 will start dropping Parts Enhance Plastics.
    • The subsequent mission will introduce Parts Evolve Plastics.
  2. Parts Enhance Plastics:
    • These come in ranks from I to VI and are used to level up your Gunpla parts.
    • Higher ranks of Plastic provide more experience, helping you max out your part’s level faster.
    • The level cap for parts increases as you progress through the story, eventually capping at level 50 upon completing all story missions. (Side quests do not affect this cap.)
  3. Parts Evolve Plastics:
    • These Plastics range from rank I to IV and are used to increase the rarity (stars) of your Gunpla parts.
    • Like levels, the rarity cap also increases as you progress through the story.
    • The maximum rarity for any part is 6 stars. Since Gunpla parts drop at 5 stars or below, you’ll need to manually enhance them to 6 stars using these Plastics.

Important: The difficulty level of missions impacts Plastic drops:

  • Plastics will not drop from Hardcore Difficulty Missions before Chapter 3 Mission 1.
  • To obtain Plastics from these early missions, you must play them on Extreme Difficulty or higher.

Efficient Plastic Farming Tips

While Plastics drop frequently after Chapter 3 Mission 1, maximizing your Plastic collection can speed up your Gunpla enhancements. Here are some tips to help you gather Plastics more efficiently:

  1. Use a Breaker Booster:
    • Breaker Boosters nearly double the amount of Plastic you collect during missions, making them a crucial tool for efficient farming.
  2. Break Your Opponents:
    • Breaking enemy Gunpla is a core mechanic, but did you know that each enemy has a cap on how much Plastic it can drop? Once this cap is reached, the enemy will no longer drop Plastic but will continue to drop parts if allowed to reform and be broken again.
  3. Utilize Survival Mode:
    • Survival Mode unlocks later in the game and is a fantastic source of Plastic. You’ll face up to 50 waves of enemies, all dropping Plastics. Pairing this mode with a Breaker Booster can yield nearly as much Plastic in one run as three standard missions, in a fraction of the time.

Mastering EX and OP Actions

To equip EX and OP skills on any Gunpla, you need to increase the rarity of the part containing the desired skill. Parts with EX/OP Actions have a unique symbol next to them. By enhancing these parts to higher rarities, you can “master” the skill, allowing it to be equipped regardless of the parts currently equipped on your Gunpla.

Steps to Master EX/OP Skills:

  1. Increase the Part’s Rarity:
    • Use Parts Evolve Plastics to raise the rarity of the desired part.
    • Once the part reaches a higher rarity, the skill becomes mastered.
  2. Equip Mastered Skills:
    • Go to the EX Actions Menu in your customization screen.
    • Choose the slot where you want to equip the EX skill, select the mastered skill, and confirm your choice.

Note: While you can equip mastered skills freely, there is a visual quirk. When activating EX/OP skills from mastered parts, the original part’s wireframe appears on your Gunpla, even if you do not have the part equipped. This does not affect gameplay but may impact the visual aesthetics of your build.

Tips for Using Mastered EX/OP Actions

  • Customization Freedom: Mastering skills allows you to focus on building your dream Gunpla without worrying about sub-optimal skill sets.
  • Visual Considerations: Be mindful of the wireframe effect, which may appear jarring if you’re aiming for a specific visual theme.

To Sum It Up

With the above strategies, you’re well on your way to mastering EX and OP skills for any Gunpla in Gundam Breaker 4. Whether you’re striving to build the ultimate Gunpla or experimenting with new skills, these tips will help you optimize your gameplay experience. So, gear up, get those Plastics, and unleash the full potential of your Gunpla!
