SnowRunner – Best/Optimum In-Game Graphics Settings

In this guide for Snowrunner, we try to put out the Best Graphics settings which will fetch you decent FPS in-game and the optimum smoothness in running it.

SnowRunner – Best In-Game Graphics Settings

DISPLAY MODE

This should be set to Fullscreen.

RESOLUTION

Set this to your native Resolution. For us, it is 1920×1080.

TARGET DISPLAY

This should be the primary display. For our rig, it is 1.

VERTICAL SYNC (V-SYNC)

Keep this OFF to uncap your FPS limit and have a smooth FPS all around.

ANTIALIASING

This should be set to OFF to gain a boost in FPS. If you have a powerful rig like an RTX GPU, you can experiment with this. Also since this game already has the FXAA option, turning that ON instead of this will be more feasible for mid-tier setups.

FXAA

You need to keep this ON for smoothness in FPS. Keeping this ON should be enough to override any other AA options since this smoothens edges across all pixels in-game.

SHARPENING

Set this option to FIDELITYFX.

FILM GRAIN

This option enables some wanted visual “noise” in the game. For a medium-level rig, this can be a bit of an issue, so we suggest keeping it OFF.

FIRST-PERSON CAMERA FOV

Keep this Slider to 107

THIRD-PERSON CAMERA FOV

This slider should be set to 80.

LEGACY CAMERA

Keep this OFF.

VISUAL QUALITY PRESET

This is set to Custom for obvious reasons for independently changing the visual settings one by one.

TERRAIN DRAW DISTANCE

A major part of the game is its Terrain Design, so we kept this at Ultra.

GRASS DENSITY

Keep this Low.

OBJECT QUALITY

Putting this to Ultra is the most pleasing to the eyes. If you struggle with FPS, set this to High.

SIMULATION QUALITY

Again, this should be set to Ultra as well.

SHADOW QUALITY

We keep this to Low since medium rigs can struggle with FPS on High shadows.

TEXTURE QUALITY

It is safe to keep this at Ultra as well. If you use a quad-core CPU, change this to High.

TEXTURE FILTERING

This is set to 16x. Again, if you use anything less than a Hexacore CPU, set it to 8x, just to be safe.

AMBIENT OCCLUSION

This is Set to OFF.

WATER QUALITY

We keep this on Low.

VOLUME FOG

Again fog is an important visual element to play this simulation game. It makes the game look much decent, so we suggest keeping this ON. Since this option does not heavily impact the Frame Rates, it is safe.

LIGHT SHAFTS

Light rays from the sun are also an important aspect. So keep this option ON as well.

MIRRORS

This option is to view reflections in Vehicle Mirror in First Person View. We Have Kept it ON for the sake of the real vehicle feel of a simulation game.

SnowRunner is a simulation game, which grants you over 40 Vehicles to drive around, across rugged and challenging terrains. The game itself has been improved in terms of Graphics Settings in-game. The controls of the game have also been improved greatly this time around.

The above In-Game settings fetched us an average of 60FPS+ on uncapped Frame Rates. If you struggle with Frame Rate drops, Turn down the Ultra settings to Medium-High and the Lighting Effects to OFF. That should bump up your FPS by some amount.

With that being said we shall conclude this Best or Optimum Settings guide for SnowRunner. Your questions/suggestions are welcome in the comments below.

    1. Yes, with the specifications you listed, it should fetch you well beyond 60 FPS on uncapped. The game is graphics intensive, but a GTX 1660 and/or a RTX2060 can handle it with ease. 🙂

  1. I have i5 9400f with rtx 3060 oc but my game getting freeze going to 1 -10 fps before returning back to 50-58 fps on 1920*1080 monitor with 16gb ram on mai H310M pro vdh motherboard.
Suggest me for getting rid of this freezing game issue

    1. Are you using a cracked version or the official game. The cracked version has some framerate issues. However, you can lower all the shadows to lowest possible, and the textures to medium. Also turn off FXAA.
