Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – Livestock and Birds Guide

All kinds of farming games will involve a significant number of animals and what you can do with them. The same is the case with Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life where players will get five kinds of animals in both of their farms.

All of the animals have great usage when it comes to gifting or selling or cooking together. There is a lot that players can achieve in the game including purchasing animals, breeding and raising them, along with becoming friends.

In that regard, the following guide will help players in understanding everything that there is about the livestock.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – Livestock and Animals Guide

Players will be acquiring animals through the Ledger present near your home after ordering. There are a number of types of chickens, cows, and sheep, including male and female.

The gendering is important since you may need to breed them as well at some point later on in the game.

There are four types of cows with differing prices among them and even the sexes. Male Normal Cow costs 2,500g and female Normal Cow is priced at 5,000g alongside giving milk.

Male Brown Cow is available for 10,000g and female Brown Cow can be got for 20,00g as they also give brown milk for butter.

The male Marble Cow will set you back by 10,000g and the female Marble Cow is available for 20,000g plus marble milk for making cheese.

A male Star Cow can be got for 25,000g while the female Star Cow comes in at 50,000g with Star milk. The female Chicken costs 1,000g and gives eggs with the male Chicken costs 500g.

Finally, both genders of sheep will give players wool and they are both priced at 3,000g

The animals will be here the day after and you will get a notification to go to the Farm in case you are absent from there. You can then meet the animal, set a name for it, and select the place for the trough.

When it comes to the ducks and goats, you will have to get them via different methods. You will have to purchase the Pond from the Ledger and it costs 10,000g.

Takakura will construct the Pond on the farm and will tell you once finished. If you have two empty places in the Coop, Takakura will give you a male and female Duck to whom you can give names before keeping them in the Coop.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – What is the Coop

Initially, the Coop will hold a maximum of eight birds, no matter the gender or type. They feed on Birdseed and it costs 100g for each bag from the Ledger.

Birdseed will also be used for ducks and chickens. You can give the Birdseed in the trough at the center of the Coop and keep refilling it from time to time.

Players will be able to interact and care for birds after naming them in order to see their health and make them more lovable to you.

There is a bell outside of the Coop and you can write it for bringing your birds together. When you want to level up the Coop, it will set you back by 100,000g and increase the number of birds to 16

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – All about Eggs and Fertilization of Eggs

The female birds give eggs when they become older so you will get them in their places itself. Just lift up the bird and check whether you have an egg underneath.

The eggs can be found outside as well if the birds do go out. When you bring the birds back, you will be able to see where they have laid eggs and it makes your job easier.

There is no difference between the eggs of ducks and chickens you can make food with either eggs or fertilized eggs.

If you have both genders, male, and female, of the same kind of birds, there are chances of getting fertilized eggs that are pink.

There is an Incubator that you can use in an empty slot for the eggs to become a new bird in some days.

Once it hatches, players will follow the same routine of naming and placing. It will soon become a big bird and players can keep on continuing this process till the Coop is all filled up.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – What is the Barn for Goats, Sheep, and Cows

Apart from the Coop, you also have the Barn where the Cows, Sheep, and Goats are present. Every trough for each animal is different so keep an eye on the amount there is in each of them.

Like the Coop, the Barn can hold a maximum of eight animals at the start. Horses will have a separate slot for the trough so it will reduce a slot for a different animal.

You will need Fodder for all of them and you can buy it from the Ledger or grow it in the field by using Fertilizer before having the Sickle to harvest.

This will turn into Fodder through the chute of the Barn. Upgrading the Barn will cost you 120,000g and gives you 16 animals (15 with the horse).

You have a bell to bring the animals out in the open and it makes them happier here although be careful when the weather is bad to bring them back inside.

Make sure you are interacting with the livestock often and snuggling them so they grow more fond of you. You should get the Brush from Van in order to give the animals brushings which they love very much.

Cows and Goats give milk and you can milk them using the Milker you received from Takakura. There are a few bottles you will receive every day with quality increasing as the animals’ happiness does.

Pregnant animals will not give you milk. For the sheep, you have to use the Shears to get the wool by just getting near to them. The color of the wool changes depending on how happy they are to be in the barn.

As mentioned above, cows give varied types of milk. The normal cow gives milk with Marble Cow give milk for Butter and Brown Cows’ milk is used for Cheese.

You can turn them into the respective products through the Processing Room. Star Cows give Star Milk and that is a top-notch item. Goat Milk is gotten from female goats for a year after hitting maturity.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life – How to Breed Livestock

If you have slots available in the Barn then a newborn animal will take up that area. Males and females of an animal being present will lead to breeding so make sure you are keeping a check on that.

Players can also do breeding with the help of a different animal through the Ledger. Once your animal is pregnant, you can interact with it to know how they are doing. The animals develop red cheeks when they it’s almost time to give birth.

When it is time, take the animal to the closed-in area and the birth will happen in a few days. The trough is also brought here so keep it replenished. If you delay moving the pregnant anima, the Forest Sprites will remind you.

New mother cows will give Mother’s Milk that you have to give the baby by yourself in the initial days till it becomes old enough. Post that, the mother cow gives improved milk for a while so you will be set if you keep track well.

Story of Seasons – A Wonderful Life – How to Sell Animals

Players can sell the animals via the tab in the Ledger and you will receive some amount of money depending on the kind of animal and the age.

The animal will vanish after you started the process and they are usually sold for half the amount you bought it for. Additionally, you will not be able to get the animal back after selling it.

Thus, that is all the information players will need regarding all the livestock, and birds, and how to care for them in the game. You will have a number of ways through which to help your animals alongside raising them
