Alan Wake 2: Best Graphics Settings for PS5

The release of Alan Wake 2 has happened with the game coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 27. There was a delay in the release in the summer, but those troubles seem to be left behind for now.

Those who will be playing on their PCs will get a lot of options in terms of visuals, but console players can feel hard done by. This is because there are just a couple of graphics modes for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, while the Xbox Series C has only one. Let’s explore both of them below.

Alan Wake 2: Best Graphics Settings for PS5

There are fewer options for players to select from than other games nowadays. So, you must get down into them to find the best settings that will work for you while playing Alan Wake 2.

The game has been designed from “the beginning as a 30fps experience focusing on visuals and ambiance,” according to Remedy Entertainment’s communication director, Thomas Puha.

Additionally, they included ” a solid Performance mode” into the game, as was mentioned in the same tweet. Here is what players can expect in each of the modes, i.e., Quality and Performance:

Alan Wake 2 - quality and performance

Quality: The output resolution comes at 4K along with a render resolution of 2258 x 1270p that will give you a steady 30FPS with minor drops rarely.

Performance: This gives importance to 60FPS, with the output resolution coming to 1440p and the render resolution at 1505 x 847p. While the 60FPS is pretty consistent, it seems evident that it will not be locked all the while you are playing Alan Wake 2.

These modes can be got on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while Xbox Series S will give the output resolution at 1440p.

There are a bunch of live-action video elements to Alan Wake 2, and they seem to focus on the regular 24FPS and even get up to 30FPS but always less than 60FPS that is got in Performance Mode.

Alan Wake 2 - solutions to problems

Since these are early days, it is not exactly clear which mode will be the best suited for players on a wide scale.

You can begin on the Performance Mode and change to Quality Mode if you think it will be faster and more detailed on the environment.

The Performance Mode also feels nicer, given the higher FPS it will have. However, the visual experience will be enhanced if you stick to Quality Mode, and you can soak in more of the surroundings while playing.

Thus, that is all the information players will need regarding the details of the two modes for Alan Wake 2.

You should try both of them out for some time before making a final decision since this will be largely a self-choice, and there is no clear, correct answer as to which will be better for you to experience the game in the best manner.
