Baldur’s Gate 3 Best Graphics Settings Guide
Baldur’s Gate 3 Graphics Settings (In-game)
These are the best Baldur’s Gate 3 Graphics settings for the shown system specs:
Fullscreen Display – Native – I seldom never change this to any other setting unless the performance drop is significant.
Resolution – native – Same reason as the above.
Display Mode – Fullscreen – Having this on borderless settings can help you in ALT-Tabbing quickly. But Fullscreen gives the most performance.
Vsync Mode – Disabled – If you face screen tearing or jittery graphics, turn this ON.
Frame Rate cap – Enabled – Cap this to the native refresh rate of the monitor if you face FPS fluctuations or screen tearing.
Frame Rate – Put monitor refresh rate
Model Quality – Medium – A good balance between performance and visual quality of models.
Instance Distance – Low
Texture Quality – High – This helps with the quality of rendered textures. Keep this high unless you are facing major FPS drops.
Texture Filtering – Anisotropic x16
Lighting Quality – Medium
Shadows – Off/ON for better Visual Quality [suggested by gamertagzero user Shadow]
Light Shadows – Off
Shadow Quality – Low
Anti-aliasing – SMAA
Ambient Occlusion – Off
Depth of Field – None
God Rays – Off
Bloom – Off
Subsurface Scattering – Off
FPS Boost for Performance

1. Optimizing Windows Settings
Go to the search bar and type “Game Mode”
Open the window and make sure the option is “OFF”
Also, make sure that the “XBOX Gamebar” is set to OFF
In the Captures Tab, Turn off all the options.
2. Updating NVIDIA and AMD Drivers
make sure your respective drivers are up to date and ready to go! These Driver releases can sometimes fix entire lag or stuttering issues.
3. Change Windows Graphics Settings
Turn on Hardware Graphics Acceleration from Windows.
To do this, go to the search bar and type “GPU”
Open “Graphics Settings” and Turn on Hardware Acceleration.
4. Game Launch Settings
Go to the game launch window and click on the cogwheel next to it.
- You can turn on both Vulcan and DirectX 11.
- If you face launch issues, switch to “DirectX 11 ONLY”. That should fix the issue.

Results and Conclusion
The above settings are done, just to test the stability of your system. That is why we have capped the FPS and set the Native refresh rate. At the above settings, we managed a stable Frame Rate (60Hz for us). With little fluctuations in graphically intense scenarios. For those who are facing Launch errors or cannot launch the game, try to use DirectX 11 option only.
