The following guide will help players Change the Color Of their Name In Multiplayer mode in COD MW2.
COD MW2 – How to do colored names in Multiplayer mode
The process to make your name colorful is very simple for both PC and console players. If you are on the former, just go to your Profile inside Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), which is to the top-right.
- Click on “Edit Clan Tag”
- You will be viewing your Clan Tag, and this is where the main work comes in.
- Select a color code and place it either in front or after the Clan Tag
- However, players have to make sure that their Clan Tag is not more than four characters since the remaining space has to be kept for the specific color code.
Here are the color codes for all the different styles your name can take:
- ^0 = Black
- ^1 = Red
- ^2 = Green
- ^3 = Yellow
- ^4 = Blue
- ^5 = Cyan
- ^6 = Pink
- ^7 = White
- ^8 = Black
If you do it right, this is how it should look like:
I used the code ^5 for cyan color, and as you can see from the images above, it did really work and changed my color from white to cyan. Do try it out and let me know if you are facing any issues in changing the colors.
When it comes to your consoles, whether it is the Xbox series or PlayStation, there are heavy similarities. The only extra aspect is that you will need an external keyboard to join with your console which will enable you to type in the color codes as you want.
After the keyboard is set up, open your Profile and click on the Spacebar, which will take you to the Edit Clan Tag area.
Now, all you have to do is simply key in the code you want for your favorite color, and you will see your name-changing color for future multiplayer battles.
Thus, that is all the information you will need to become instantly cooler in the game with your color of choice. The only downside of adding a different color is that you will have to shorten your Clan Tag name to accommodate your color.
However, that is something that can be done easily, and there is a good chance that players will be choosing to become more colorful in their multiplayer combat.

A FIFA junkie who can also mix it up with Call Of Duty and racing games. GTA was his first love. Now can be found spending time between writing on what he plays and playing what he will write on.
I just tried all these, doesn’t work. Says “blank or illegal characters”
I have attached some images. I also checked it lately and it still is working. See the images in the post. Try to check if you inputting the right set of codes in the right place.
I put them in correctly and they are still white
I think it is patched after the recent update.
