The much-awaited release of Sniper Elite 5 has been due for a long time. Finally, the game is out for PC players and you can purchase it and get on it right now. Even though Sniper Elite 5 is not a next-gen game as we expected, it sure packs a punch in terms of visuals.
Speaking of visuals, in this guide, I will try to show you the best graphics settings for Sniper Elite 5. These tweaks and settings should hopefully enable your game to run at a decent framerate with minimal to no lag.
Best Graphics Settings for Sniper Elite 5
Before we go into the details of the best settings for SE5, we need to make sure that our system is meeting the minimum specs for the game. Check it out…
System Requirements for Sniper Elite 5
MINIMUM:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel CPU Core i3-8100 or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: DirectX12 capable GPU with 4GB VRAM
- Storage: 85 GB of available space
RECOMMENDED:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel CPU Core i5-8400 or equivalent
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: DirectX12 capable GPU with 6GB VRAM
- Storage: 85 GB of available space
Best In-Game Graphics Settings
These are the best graphics settings I could manage for my system, for Sniper Elite 5. Take note that this can change depending on what system you are running.
Screen Mode
- Resolution – 1920 x 1080 (Highest resolution supported by your monitor should be used here)
- Screen Mode – Exclusive Fullscreen (The best performance I found out for my system was on this screen mode)
Rendering API
- DirectX Version – 12 (I have not tested Vulkan yet. You can try that out and see if it works for you to improve performance. I found DirectX 12 to be more stable)
In-Game Graphics Settings
- Texture Detail – High (Good performance and visuals if I keep this High. Not much performance increase for me even if I set it to Medium)
- Shadow Detail – Low (Shadows are CPU and GPU intensive so it should be set to the lowest value)
- Reflection Detail – Medium (Medium levels of reflection were good enough for my system to get decent FPS. This can be GPU intensive.)
- Anti-Aliasing – High (Sniper Elite 5 has issues with how edgy the graphics look. Even with AA set to High, I was not getting enough smoothness. Just a personal opinion)
- Draw Distance – Low (You can set this to High. Note that more world render means more resource-intensive.)
- Water Detail – Medium (Not much difference in setting this to Low or Medium)
- Motion Blur – Off (I avoid motion blur for most games that do not give it a different feeling altogether)
- Ambient Occlusion – Off (This one is optional. You can set this to ON also.)
- Tessellation – Off
- Obscurance Field – Off
- HDR – Off (HDR is not viable for SE5 so I kept this Off)
- Vsync – Off (Turn this On only if you are facing screen-tearing or FPS fluctuation issues)
- Async Compute – On (Depending on what CPU you use, this option will render graphics, and compute shaders in a parallel manner)
- Reduce Mouse Lag – On (Personal Preference)
- Install/Uninstall Anti-Cheat – On (Good for Online Play.)
What System Specs I Used
CPU | Ryzen 5 5600x |
GPU | RTX 3060Ti FE |
STORAGE | M.2 SSD 1TB |
MEMORY | 32 GB DDR4 (3000MHz OC) |
OS | Windows 10 64 Bit |
RECORDER | OBS Studio / Riva Tuner / MSI Afterburner (can take up some FPS) |
Results and Guide for More FPS
With The above system specs and in-game graphics settings, there were my results:
AVERAGE FPS | 150-153 |
GPU MEMORY USE | ~4836 MB |
GPU TEMP | 74 Degrees |
GPU USAGE | 91% |
RAM USAGE | ~ 10 GB |
If you are running on the following systems:
- GTX 1050Ti OC and I3 8100/i5 12th gen/i7 8th gen or 10th gen
- GTX 1060 / GTX 1650 / GTX 1660 (Super or Normal) and Ryzen 5 3600 or other same versions
Try to dial down the Textures to Medium and Most medium settings to low. You can try to run the game on Fullscreen borderless window or windowed mode for more FPS. Set the FidelityFX to Performance and 1x to get more Frames.
I hope with the above tips and settings, you should run Sniper Elite 5 fine. If you face any issues, do mention them in the comment section below. I will try to help you out to the best of my knowledge.
