Destiny 2: Season of the Deep | How To Complete New Activities

The new Season of the Deep in Destiny 2 has begun, and like past seasons, there are some new matchmade activities to explore. This season, you can participate in two activities: Deep Dive, a short burst of fun that will expand over the weeks, and Salvage, a more typical matchmade action.

If you’ve played Defiant Battlegrounds, Heist Battlegrounds, or Ketchcrash, you’ll be familiar with this six-player mode. It’s a fast-paced succession of arenas, chores, and a massive boss fight.

As usual, this activity will provide you with fantastic rewards, new seasonal gear, vendor reputation, and progress toward Seasonal Bonuses. This is how Salvage works in Season of the Deep.

How To Go Through New Activities in Destiny 2: Season of the Deep

Phase 1: Clear the area and fulfill the objectives

Salvage’s opening act is essentially a combination of room-clearing action and juggling an objective. This second section of the first phase is drawn from one of four random assignments, and we’ve been tasked with destroying crystals, carrying big wrenches, and defusing bombs that have activated our Prison of Elders memories during our playthroughs.

These goals may differ slightly, but for the most part, you’ll need to complete them swiftly while avoiding any Hive or Fallen in the vicinity.

Phase 2: Defeating Azshradat

After you’ve cleared the rooms, it’s time to go further into Titan’s facilities and face the big terrible boss who awaits you. According to the Triumphs, there are two bosses, the second of which is Uorgotha, Scourge of the Deep.

  • Concentrate on the Hive boss before you, as this encounter has a few unique mechanics to master.

Azshradat will be shielded by Hive Knights known as Runekeepers, and covered by a shield your weapons cannot penetrate. You must first look for a Hive Rune that will appear in the air and then locate a plate that fits the symbol.

After that, you’ll acquire the boost “Heinous Right” and can begin smashing Runekeeper shields while standing on the plate.

You’ll be able to move out of the plate and begin doing damage to them once the shields are down. When the Knights are defeated, you can repeat the process and begin melting down Azshradat’s shield.

You may start unloading everything you have at him now that his defenses are down, and if you’re quick enough, you can easily knock him out in this phase alone before the period on your buff runs out.

If you don’t manage to take down Azshradat at this phase, repeat the process to take out Runekeepers and lower his defenses. After that, you can proceed to the Salvage crates to retrieve your loot. If you have any Salvage keys, you can exchange them for other goodies.

Where Can I Get Salvage Keys?

This season, you’ll be able to obtain two Salvage keys on the premium track of the season pass, as rank 12 and 52 rewards. You’ll need to participate in playlist activities to receive the keys more consistently since the Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit activities occasionally drop them as rewards.

  • You can also get Salvage keys as a reward for ranking up with the new vendor in the HELM.
