God of War PC – Best Graphics Settings Guide

In this guide, I will show you the best graphics settings to do for God of War on PC. Make sure that you meet the minimum system specs for the game. Also, check my system specs to draw a better conclusion.

GOD OF WAR PC BEST GRAPHICS SETTINGS

God of War PC – Best Graphics Settings⇓

The below-listed graphics settings will be your “bread and butter” for the shown system specs. The game needs some optimization, but other than that it runs fine. These graphics settings needs to be changed for a 1050TI, 1650, or something similar.

These settings are only for GoW PC’s display. Check them out along with the explanation for the tweaks:

Display Mode

Borderless (Set this to Borderless or for the best performance possible. Sadly, no fullscreen option yet for PC 🙁 )

Aspect Ratio

Auto (This should be kept native for your monitor)

Vsync

Off (If you are facing FPS spikes by a large amount, keep this ON. Otherwise I would highly recommend keeping this OFF to remove any input lag)

FPS Limit

Off (Ramp this up to the maximum FPS Possible for you. This will result in a smooth performance for most parts of your gameplay)

Motion Blur

0 (Unless you have a super-high-end system, you should keep this off for most parts)

Film Grain

3 ( If you try to keep this higher, you may face screen distortion effects so it is best to keep this low or off for the time being)

DLSS

Not supported (This should be greyed out or OFF for you by default)

FidelityFX Super Resolution

OFF (You can change this since this is experimental and varies from system to system)

Render Scale

100% (The best possible setting for a ported game is to keep the render scale to the maximum. This will make the game not so “ported” after applying changes)

Texture Quality

Original (This sets the mipmap quality of the textures in-game)

Model Quality

Original (Settings for the model quality and geometry)

Anisotropic Filter

Original (This one sets the texture filtering quality)

Shadows

Low (tweak the dynamic shadow resolution and filtering for the game)

Reflection

Disable (Make changes to the dynamic reflections resolution and sampling)

Atmospherics

High (This setting changes the quality of dynamic fog being loaded in the environment)

Ambient Occlusion

High (Ambient Occlusion setting changes the quality of “self-shadowing”)

Here is a small test I ran with the above tweaks and changes. Check out the video -> Here.

God of War PC – 720p and 1080p FPS benchmarks

Here is a list of all benchmark tests I did for God of War PC for GTX 1060, 1050 Ti, and 1650. The DirectX version used is 12 and the OS Version is 64 Bit.

The processor used is an Intel Core i9 10900K with 32 GB of RAM. The rest are the Graphics Cards I swapped out for testing:

What are the system specs of the GoW PC?

Make sure you meet the minimum or average system requirements for God of War PC. This will help you in being safe from your side while making these changes in the first place.

MINIMUM:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 960 (4 GB) or AMD R9 290X (4 GB)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 70 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: DirectX feature level 11_1 required

RECOMMENDED:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

My System Settings Used To Test

Here are the system specs I used, to test God of War on PC:

Tips To Get More FPS and Results of Benchmark

For the tips, I would say that you can try to run this game on a 1050TI, 960, or R9, but it will depend on the type of processor you have. Try to have at least a mid-tier CPU like i5 10th gen, or Ryzen 5 series. This will be the sweet spot.

Here are the results of the benchmark test I ran for GoW PC:

Average FPS72-75
GPU Usage4362/5991 MB
CPU Use percentage45%
GPU Use percentage99%

To get more FPS out of this game, you should lower the shadows to the least possible setting, and keep the textures at medium, or possibly low at all times. If you keep these points in mind, I would say that you can run GoW on PC without many issues.

The revenge against the Gods of Olympus was long ago behind him. Now Kratos lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. He’s facing harsh, unforgiving conditions and must teach his son to live the same.

With that backdrop, you start experiencing the visual spectacle called GoW Ragnarok, on PC. But what about the graphics settings for the game? Tweaking it perfectly will mean that you can now enjoy the even more with all its glory!
