Cyberpunk 2077 is facing heavy criticism for the sheer amount of bugs players are encountering as they go along. Since the main stories interconnect, they cannot skip it and need to do the quest to progress.
One of these bugs is the “Play it Safe” main quest bug. In this bug, Takamura will not call you for an indefinite period. This is a crucial point in the game, without which you cannot progress further.
In this fix, we will show you a potential way to mend the issue. There will be other alternatives, as well. Try them all out and let us know which one worked for you.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Play it Safe Bug Fix
*UPDATE* Hotfix 1.05 is out now. This should hopefully fix this issue!
What you need to do is play through “The Afterlife” Quest with Hellman. That is because at the time of the quest, your “clock ticking” will be at 30%. You need this percentage to be exact. This will trigger the fix. Now you can either wait there and burn down the 24-Hour timer to be over and reload the Area.
Alternatively, Fast travel to the motel, re-enter the terminal and click where you will spawn. Now, wait for 24 hours, and Takamura should call you straight away!
Another way to fix this issue is to run down the 24 Hours timer and kill yourself in-game. To run down the timer, sleep and do a time-skip for it.
After completing the sleep, kill yourself in-game and reload the checkpoint. Upon spawning, Takamura should call you immediately.
Repairing game files is the last thing we would suggest. It may fix some of the missing texture issues but it is highly unlikely to fix these bugs. Still, you can give it a go.

If you did all those steps correctly and is still not working for you, give a bug report to CDPR support and wait for a hotfix.
Nothing working for me…have spent 4 days trying to fix it and have tried everything under the sun. Have done virtually every side quest, gun for hire etc, fighting matches, car collections. He just refuses to call me :(.
