This is a guide on how to fix screen tearing in WWE 2K22. WWE 2K22 is a 2022 professional wrestling video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports.
It is the twenty-second overall installment of the video game series based on WWE, the ninth game under the WWE 2K banner, and the successor to 2019’s WWE 2K20. Check out the full guide to troubleshoot the Screen Tearing problem.
Screen Tearing Fix For WWE 2K22
After seeing quite a few complaints about screen tearing, and having experienced it myself, I decided to make a guide on how to fix it. And it’s actually quite simple really. Sadly this game has no V-sync option built-in, despite there being a V-sync line in the config file, which is oddly set to On by default.
But does it actually work? The screen tearing makes it look like it is not actually on. The only thing you need is either an Nvidia or AMD card, and the proper software for each card installed.
Fix for NVIDIA card users
Launch the game unless you already have, and quit the game to desktop.
- Open up the NVIDIA control panel by right-clicking any empty space on your desktop and selecting “NVIDIA Control Panel”.
- On the left side of the NVIDIA Control Panel window select “Manage 3D settings” in the 3D settings section.
- Select the “Program Settings” tab (located next to Global Settings in the middle).
- Click “Add”, and this will populate a window with recently used programs to select from.
Select “WWE 2K22” from the list of recently used programs and click “Add Selected Program”. In the middle, you will see a list of options you can change. Scroll down to near the bottom of this list and you will see “Vertical Sync”.
Click the option next to Vertical Sync, which may be defaulted to “Off” or “Use the 3D application setting”. Change this option to “On” and click “Apply”. Now you have to close the NVIDIA control panel window and relaunch the game. This should get rid of most or all screen tearing issues for you.
Fix for AMD Radeon users
Now I am not a Radeon user currently, so I am just copying this info from the web. Please feel free to correct me on any mistakes this part of the guide may have and I will edit them properly. The process seems to be similar.
- Open the Radeon settings app software on your computer. Click the Gaming tab and look for WWE 2K22.
- Look for the box that says “Wait for vertical refresh”, click it and select “Always On”. This should be it.
- Close the window, and launch the game.
- Screen tearing should be mostly gone or completely gone at this point.
About The Game
You can pre-order the game now and you will receive the Undertaker Immortal Pack, featuring 3 bonus playable Undertaker characters and an Undertaker-themed MyFACTION pack. WWE 2K22 has a redesigned gameplay engine and new controls. It has all the features you can handle. Get ripped out of the stands and hit with complete control of the WWE Universe.
You will be able to celebrate pivotal moments in Rey Mysterio’s iconic career in 2K Showcase. This game introduces something called MyGM for the first time.
Here it’s your turn to call the shots as a WWE General Manager. You can take the reins of Raw, Smackdown, NXT, or NXT UK and draft your ultimate roster of WWE Superstars and Legends. Then you have the chance to compete against rival GMs to build the biggest brand in the WWE Universe.
You also get to take on not one, but two MyRISE adventures, featuring unique male and female storylines that let you choose your journey like never before.
You can build characters from scratch and show them to the world. The Creation Suite is also back and better than ever. In this game, you can be yourself or someone else. Then step in the ring anytime, anywhere in the world.
You can also assemble your own faction in this game. In a franchise-first, the all-new MyFACTION lets you build a faction that rivals the nWo. You will have to collect, manage and upgrade WWE Superstars, with weekly events and regular updates. Overall I think WWE 2K22 hits a lot different from previous installments.
